A Sèvres Porcelain Sauceboat (Saucière) from the Service given by Louis XVI to King Gustav III of Sweden, circa 1784
decorated in the pattern called 'riche en couleurs et riche en or', with a band of alternating roses and cornflowers on a maroon ground within gilt beaded and laurel leaf borders, reserving four medallions enclosing pansies within a ring of grey pearls, the footrim, the rim and entwined double loop handles edged in gilding, interlaced LL marks in blue enclosing dater letters gg for 1784, painter's mark for Jacques-François-Louis de Laroche (active at Sèvres between 1758-1801), gilder's mark HP for Henri-Martin Prévost (active at Sèvres between 1757-97), indistinct incised marks
