painted, probably by Joseph Zächenberger, with a large loose bouquet of flowers including two pink roses and a red peony, and three small butterflies, with a further butterfly and scattered flowers below a gilt scrollwork and blue line border within the gilt-edged shaped rim, impressed shield mark, numeral 2, incised V to inside edge of footrim

A large dish of similar size, 33.6 cm diameter, from the Ludwig Darmstädter Collection, Berlin, sold, Rudolph-Lepke’s Kunst-Auctions-Haus, Berlin, March 24-26, 1925, lot 266. Another large dish of this approximate size, 35.9 cm diameter, with incised numeral 3, from the Property of Mrs. H. Graves Terwilliger, was sold at Parke Bernet Galleries, Inc., New York, 22 April 1982, lot 126.
