Longquan celadon wares bearing dated inscriptions are very rare. A closely related example, likewise dated to the fifth year of the Hongwu reign (1372), is preserved in the Sir Percival David Collection in the British Museum, London, acc. no. PDF.261.

Longquan ink stones of this form are also known from the Xuande period. A slightly smaller example, with a Xuande mark incised on the recessed glazed base, is in the Baur Collection, Geneva, published in John Ayers, Chinese Ceramics in the Baur Collection, vol. 1, Geneva, 1968, cat. no. 47 [A112].

《凝煙翠：宋元明．龍泉青瓷》，一新美術館，香港，2016年，編號27

硯作八方形，直壁，下承八矮足。通體施粉青釉，釉色瑩潤。硯身八面以減地凸雕八卦紋，紋飾清晰。硯面中央起圓形墨池，池內露胎處呈火石紅。器底淺刻《洪武五年》紀年款。

龍泉青瓷具紀年款者殊為罕見。大維德爵士舊藏一例，亦銘《洪武五年》款，造型尺寸與本品相近，現藏倫敦大英博物館，館藏編號：PDF.261。

宣德時期亦見同式龍泉八卦紋硯，製作風格一脈相承。日內瓦鮑爾東方藝術館藏一較小例，底刻《大明宣德年製》款，著錄於約翰．艾爾斯，《鮑爾收藏中國瓷器》，卷1，日內瓦，1968年，編號47（A112）。

另可參考一件宣德紀年龍泉青瓷鎮紙，呈厚圓餅狀，仿古錢形制，銘《宣德元年六月吉積善》，現藏北京故宮博物院，館藏編號：新82722。
