of the second size, vibrantly decorated in two tones of tooled gilding, with acanthus leaf scrolls issuing from wreaths reserving formal flowerheads, terminating with bouquets of leaves and flowers, above a garland of laurel, within bands of white enamel 'jewels' simulating pearls, gilt-dentil rims, interlaced LL marks in blue, gilder’s mark LG for Etienne-Henry Le Guay (active at Vincennes and Sèvres between 1748-49, 1751-97), indistinct incised numeral to cup, incised numeral 43 to saucer
