Description

the teapot painted on each side with a scene of figures at various pursuits within a quatrefoil gilt-scroll cartouche with panels filled with Böttger lustre and edged with iron-red and puce scrolls, the body, double-scroll handle and spout painted with scattered small insects and indianische Blumen, the rim with a gilt-strapwork band, the cover with a similar continuous chinoiserie scene, crossed swords and KPM mark in underglaze-blue, gilt numeral 29. to both pieces, the silver-gilt mount marked Augsburg, maker's mark EA for Elias Adam
