A pair of white jade 'dragon' pendants, Late Western Zhou dynasty | 西周晚期　龍紋玉珮一對

Formed by dividing a single pendant into two, the present pair shares close stylistic affinities with other Western Zhou jade examples. A comparable, slightly larger (5.2 cm) example is preserved in the Palace Museum, Beijing, and published in The Complete Collection of Treasures of the Palace Museum: Jadeware (I), Hong Kong, 1996, pl. 96. The Palace Museum example is thicker (0.6 cm). See also two pairs of similar style excavated from the late Western Zhou dynasty tomb of the wife of the Marquis of Jin (M92) at the Tianma-Qucun site. One pair is more rounded, while the other is more square; the rounded pair was worn as part of an assembled set alongside multiple jue earrings. 本對玉佩由一器「成形對開」製作方法而成，與其他西周玉器風格極為相近。比較一尺寸稍大之相類作例（5.2 公分），藏於北京故宮博物院，載於《故宮博物院藏文物珍品全集：玉器（上）》，香港，1996年，圖版96。北京故宮之例較厚（0.6 公分）。另見天馬一曲村的西周晚期晉侯夫人的墓中（M92），出土二對相似風格者，一對較圓，一對較方。較圓者與多件耳飾玦成組佩帶。見〈天馬-曲村遺址北趙晉侯墓地第五次發掘〉，《文物》，1995年，7期，頁21，圖二六：6-7。
