FIRST EDITION of this three-act comedy in verse by Claude Rose Rosimund (1640-1686), prominent playwright and touring actor who eventually replaced Molière in his troop.

12mo (133 x 83 mm). Roman and italic type, 34 lines plus headline. collation: A-C12 D6 (final leaf blank): 42 leaves. Woodcut initials and ornaments. (Title rehinged and paper damage to title restored affecting a few letters, final leaf rehinged.)


binding: Nineteenth-century marbled boards (139 x 89 mm), red morocco spine richly gilt, title in second compartment, plain red edges.
