Second Aldine edition, following the first published in folio format earlier in the same year. With four leaves of woodcut illustrations, the present represents a rare work on the Greek and Roman standards of measurement relative to ancient architecture, economy, mathematics, and numismatics.


4to (240 x 170 mm). Roman type, 38 lines plus headline. collation: *4 A-E8 F4 G-H2 I-K8 **4: 72 leaves. Woodcut Aldine device on title-page, woodcut initials, six woodcut plates, two of which full-page. (Scattered staining, foxing, and browning.)


binding: Seventeenth-century vellum (248 x 175 mm), flat spine. (Minor soiling, small split at foot of spine.)
