FIRST EDITION, RARE AT AUCTION. Les Plaideurs is the only comedy, in three acts and in Alexandrine verse, penned by Jean Racine. Nevertheless, it proved to be his greatest success until the nineteenth century. The present copy is a fine example, attractively bound in a modern red morocco gilt binding by Roger Devauchelle (1915-1993).
