Nicolas Faret (1600-1646) was a French statesman, scholar, and writer. He participated in the founding of the Académie Française in 1634.

8vo, 165 x 110 mm. Roman type, 22 lines plus headline. collation: ā4 A-O8 P4 (final verso blank): 120 leaves. Woodcut printer's device on title-page, woodcut initials and head- and tailpieces, occasional pencil annotations. (Some foxing, worming to upper margin of first 3 leaves and lower margin of final 3 leaves.)


binding: Contemporary vellum (166 x 116 mm), flat spine. (Binding somewhat soiled, endpapers wormed, upper endpaper torn at margins.)
