Description

each side with a Böttger lustre, iron-red and gilt scroll-edged panel, one painted with a thatched roof timber building by a river, the other with ruinous classical structures before a sun issuing rays of light, further enriched by scattered insects and birds, beneath a gilt scrollwork border at the rim, the cover with indianische Blumen, gilt-rims, the hinged silver-gilt mounts cut with stiff leaves and affixed with a scroll thumbpiece, the mount to cover marked Augsburg, maker's mark EA for Elias Adam
