Léonard Boudin, cabinetmaker, received master in 1761.

Léonard Boudin was a cabinetmaker but also a dealer, employing other cabinetmakers such as Topino, Denizot, and Gilbert. To create this bonheur du jour with its delicate decoration, he likely called upon Christophe Wolff or Brice Péridiez, specialists in floral marquetry with whom he collaborated. For a bonheur du jour by Léonard Boudin and Pierre Denizot, with a similar but much simpler, see Christie’s Paris, 29 October 2024, lot 239.
