Two German porcelain rectangular snuff boxes, second half 18th century

the first, painted with vignettes of figures in landscape above grisaille scroll supports embellished with flowers, the rear panel of the box including the Commedia dell’Arte figure of Dottore Boloardo, the interior lid with an interior scene of a female figure rejecting the advances of her male companion, with silver-plated mounts;

the second, perhaps Kloster Veilsdorf, painted with Watteauesque figures within landscape vignettes, within rocaille scroll frames moulded in low-relief, the interior lid painted with a scene of a female dancer with two musician companions, with gilt-metal mounts
