painted on each side with two large scenes of European landscapes with figures by quaysides, within iron-red, puce and gilt scroll-edged shaped quatrefoil cartouches with diaper panels, separated by sprays of indianische Blumen, with a gilt-scroll border at the rim, the cover with a similar continuous harbour scene with figures, crossed swords mark in underglaze-blue, gilt numeral 61. to both pieces, incised / to inside edge of footrim
