A similar but larger (16.8 cm) jade ‘dragon’ pendant, excavated at Huanggutun, Ongniud Banner, Inner Mongolia and now in the Ongniud Banner Museum, is illustrated in Gu Fang, Zhongguo chutu yuqi quanji/The Complete Collection of Jades Unearthed in China, Beijing, 2005, vol. 2, pl. 18. For examples sold at auction, see a slightly smaller one (9.5 cm) sold in our Paris rooms, 10th June 2021. 86, from the Bei Zu collection, and a slightly larger one (11.3 cm) from the late Hongshan culture, sold at Christie’s Hong Kong, 29th November 2017, lot 2703, from the Yangdetang collection.
