Jun vases with lobed mouths are exceedingly rare, and this particular meiping appears to be a unique example. Compare, however, three Jun gu-vases with similarly lobed rims: one formerly in the George Eumorfopoulos collection, though with an unsuccessfully fired glaze, illustrated in R.L. Hobson, Catalogue of the Chinese, Corean and Persian Pottery and Porcelain, vol. 3, London, 1926, pl.10, no. C33; another example was sold in our New York rooms, 4th June, 1986, lot 45, later acquired by T. T. Tsui, and sold again through our same rooms, 11th September, 2012, lot 131; a third piece, previously in the Muwentang Collection, exhibited at the 30th Anniversary of Min Chiu Society, illustrated in Selected Treasures of Chinese Art, Hong Kong, 1990, no.39. Additionally, compare also a Jun bottle vase with a similar mouth-rim, sold at Christie's Hong Kong, 29th November, 2022, lot 2908.

鈞窰瓶類飾花口者絕少，花口梅瓶似乎惟本件而已。可比較三件帶此類五辦花口的鈞窰觚形瓶，一件為George Eumorfopoulos舊藏，惟釉面欠佳，載於R.L. Hobson，《Catalogue of the chinese， Corean and Persian Pottery and Porcelain》，卷3，倫敦，1926年，圖版10，編號C33；另有一件售於紐約蘇富比，1986年6月4日，編號45，入藏在望山莊，2012年9月11日再經紐約蘇富比釋出，編號131；香港沐文堂舊藏一件亦資參考，展覽於敏求精舍三十週年紀念展，載於《歷代文物萃珍》 ，香港，1990年，編號39。還可比較香港佳士得售出一件鈞窰花口長頸瓶，2022年11月29日，編號2908。
