A Lyonese counterfeit, attributed by USTC to Gabiano, and by Shaw to Trot, who specifies it is "after the Aldine edition of October 1503."
8vo (165 x 98 mm). Italic type, 30 lines plus headline. collation: A-Y8 AA-EE8 FF4: 220 leaves. (Wormholes to lower corner of title and a few pages near end, minor staining, dark stain to lower margin of last several leaves.)
binding: Contemporary Italian brown morocco over thin wooden boards (172 x 98 mm), double frame of five blind fillets, mitred, gilt leaf in corners, four compartments undecorated, paper label running up spine, traces of four leather clasps, gilt edges. (Covers rubbed, damaged at head of spine, corners, and edges, endpapers wormed, front hinge cracked.) Housed in red cloth box.
