FIRST EDITION, UNCUT COPY. A rare collection of satirical tales about the excesses, especially amatory, of financiers and tax farmers.

12mo (145 x 78 mm). Roman and italic type, 29 lines plus headline. collation: π4 A-L12 M8: 144 leaves. Woodcut printer's device on title-page, title printed in red and black, initials within woodcut borders, woodcut head- and tailpieces, leaves untrimmed. (Slight browning and spotting, some marginal dampstainings, small ink stain to F12-G1 very slightly affecting text, paper flaw to lower corner of L1, burn hole to M6 affecting 4 letters.)


binding: Later half green morocco over marbled boards (149 x 91 mm), spine with 5 bands, 4-line title in second compartment, gilt decoration in other compartments, marbled endpapers. (Binding slightly rubbed at extremities.)
