The first of seven pamphlets detailing in Count Zinzendorf's attempt to unite the German sects of Pennsylvania.
Count Zinzendorf arrived in Pennsylvania at the end of 1741 with a plan to unite the various German sects in the colony. While these efforts were unsuccessful, he published a total of seven pamphlets under Franklin's imprint, each recounting meetings of a group of representatives from across Pennsylvania of an organization later known as the Congregation of God in the Spirit ("Gemeine Gottes im Geist"). The reports of the seven meetings have continuous pagination and signatures. The present lot, the first of those pamphlets, was advertised in the Pennsylvania Gazette issue of 3 February 1741/42.
