Description
[United Brethren] — Johann Adam Gruber
Small 4to (186 x 148 mm). Errata note on final text leaf; a few stray ink smudges, last text leaf verso with ink offset from another Franklin publication (likely Miller 303), possibly once the following title in a sammelband. Earlytwentieth-century red morocco by Zaehnsdorf, lettered and bordered in gilt, spine gilt-lettered, gilt turn-ins; repaired at upper joint, extremities lightly rubbed, a few scuffs to upper cover, endleaves offset from turn-ins.
The fifth of seven pamphlets which sought to unite the German sects scattered across Pennsylvania.
The title calls on the "formerly awakened souls of this land, scattered here and there" to "a renewed embrace, a union as members of one body, and a fellowship of prayer." The errata note corrects the pagination and signatures of this volume to align with the preceding pamphlets.
