Description

modelled by J. F. Lück, after an engraving by Johann Esaias Nilson, she, seated playing the instrument resting on scrollwork issuing from rockwork, with a boy seated at her feet playing the bagpipes, flanked by a sleeping hound and a recumbent lamb, under a pierced fretwork arbour, on a grassy gilt-scroll-edged mound base, rampant lion mark in underglaze-blue

A further example of this model was in the historic collection of Emma Budge, Hamburg, sold, Paul Graupe, 27-29 September 1937, lot 914 and a second with an additional figure incorporated into the model is in the Pauls Collection, illustrated in Dr. Erika Pauls-Eisenbeiss, German Porcelain of the 18th Century, Vol. II, London, 1972, p. 134.
