the cover centred with an oval plaque featuring a vestale and a Cupid close to a Love altar, framed with pearls, surrounded by dark blue enamel with pearls and reeded motives, with a green enamel foliage border and pearls on a sablé ground, the sides and base with similar decoraton, the inside with a plaque inscribed "Given by H.M. Queen Mary, to Ann Ridpath. October 13th 1936.", marks: maker'"s marks, two illegible marks and French control mar, numbered onthe rim 845
