Description

rectangular, the lid centred with a hinged dark blue enamel plaque inset with a diamond flower spray, opening to reveal a small enamel watch dial with Roman numerals, a polished gold plate surrounding the dial, 'Breguet' hands in blued steel, the mechanism: arch-top, gilt brass bridge caliber, 8 jewels, cylinder escapement, plain gilt three-arm balance, flat balance spring, index regulator with a pin protruding through the dial side, surrounded with engraved gold sunflowers and foliage on a dark blue enamel ground, the waisted sides decorated with leaf tip borders, the base engraved with a coat of arms within floral foliage, the box apparently unmarked apart from later French hibou control marks, the interior further inscribed Mitilina/Mitilino, the movement struck with maker's mark HG and numbered: 1486
