A jade 'dragon' ring, Late Warring States period - early Western Han dynasty | 戰國晚期至西漢早期　龍紋玉瑗

Skilfully modelled in the form of a dragon within a ring resembling a twisted rope, this pendant testifies to the virtuosic craftsmanship of the Warring States period to early Han dynasty. For Warring States period jade rings worked with this ‘rope-twist’ design, see one from the Qing court collection and preserved in the Palace Museum, Beijing, illustrated in The Complete Collection of Treasures of the Palace Museum: Jadeware (I), Hong Kong, 1996, pl. 121. 此件玉瑗內雕一龍，構思精巧；環身雕作絞繩紋，龍形盤踞其中，充分展現戰國至西漢初期高超嫻熟之琢玉工藝。

採用此類絞繩紋設計之戰國時期玉瑗，可參見一件清宮舊藏、現藏於北京故宮博物院之例，著錄於《故宮博物院藏文物珍品全集：玉器（一）》，香港，1996年，圖版121。另可參考兩例戰國時期龍形玉器，其獸身雕作絞繩狀者，一例售於香港蘇富比2024年4月9日，拍品編號3611；另一例藏於紐約大都會藝術博物館，館藏編號1985.214.99。
