Valerius Maximus. Dictorum et Factorum memorabilium libri novem. [Lyon: n.p., 1504?]

Another counterfeit of the 1502 Aldine edition, in an attractive pastiche of a Renaissance binding.

8vo (170 x 92 mm). Italic type with some Greek, 30 lines plus headline. collation: π4 A-Z8 aa-cc8: 212 leaves (cc8 blank). (Marginal dampstaining, a few leaves soiled)

Maxim" with two gilt leaves, "Gu. De Prato" on lower cover, gilt and gauffered edges; possibly a replica of Duprat's original binding, see note about provenance below. (A few stains, lightly rubbed.)
