8vo (161 x 90 mm). Italic type, 30 lines plus headline. collation: a-e8 2a-z8 A-F8 G4 2A-B8 2C4: 296 leaves. Woodcut Aldine device to e8, guide letters in initial spaces. (2A1 with marginal tear, final quire beginning to loosen, occasional light ink and dampstaining.)


binding: Contemporary Northern Italian brown morocco (165 x 94 mm), tooled in blind, three fillets around sides, miters of three fillets connecting to an inner frame formed by three fillets, containing addorsed dolphins with a fountain between them, on each side between this frame and outer edges a ropework five-lobed tool flanked by angelots, in central vertical panel four knotwork tools aligned vertically, spine with four compartments, decorated by single fillets in a diaper pattern, edges gilt and gauffered to a diapered pattern with rosettes in interstices surrounded by a wavy border. (Lacking endleaves, minor worming to pastedowns, small areas of restoration(?))
