8vo (146 x 95 mm). Roman type, 29 lines plus headline. collation: π4 A-Z8 AA-II8 KK-NN8 (lacking NN7-8): 290 (of 292) leaves. Woodcut Aldine device on title-page, reader's marks in brown ink. (Faint dampstaining to a few leaves, scattered foxing and staining.)
binding: Nineteenth-century English red morocco (153 x 103 mm), possibly by Storr of Grantham, covers with gilt border leafy tool, inner border of multiple bling rules with rosettes at corners, gilt Aldine device on covers, flat spine with five compartments separated by gilt rules, second and third gilt-lettered, others with repeat filigree motif in gilt, all edges gilt, marbled endpapers. (Extremities rubbed, spine darkened.)
