HOTMAN, FRANÇOIS AND ÉTIENNE DESCHAMPS. Oraison funébre de Tres-Auguste & Tres-Vertüeuse Princecsse Marie Therese D'Autriche Infante d'Espagne, Reine de France et de Navarre. Composée de celles de M.rs l'Abbé Fléchier, l'Abbé Anselme, & le P. Dom Chartier Benedictin. Par M.r Hotman. 1702
HANDSOME MANUSCRIPT COMPILATION OF FUNERAL ORATIONS FOR MARIE-THÉRÈSE OF AUSTRIA, queen consort of King Louis XIV of France (reigned 1643–1715). Marie-Thérèse was born on 10 September 1638 at El Escorial, the eighth child of Philip IV (1605-1665), King of Spain, and his first wife, Elizabeth of France (1602-1644). She died at Versailles on 30 July 1683.
Étienne Agard Deschamps (1613-1711), or Stephanus Deschamps, was Professor of Rhetoric, Philosophy, and Theology at Paris. The work is prefaced with an acknowledgement that, whilst l'Abbé Flechier (Esprit Fléchier; 1632-1711), l'Abbé Anselme (Antoine Anselme, Abbé de Saint-Sever; 1652-1737) and "Dom Chartier Benedictin" are responsible for the majority of the speeches compiled here, some stylistic alterations have been made, substituting some expressions for others which better fit the work as a whole. Les Oraisons Funebres of Fléchier and Anselme were published separately in 1683, and then together in 1684.

Marteau, title with silver skull and crossbones surrounded by tears, at end arms of Marie-Thérèse painted in colors, 3 illuminated initials, 2ff., 229 pages. (Staining throughout with outer margin of some leaves frayed, pp. 3-4 replaced in facsimile, probably during the eighteenth century.)
