First edition in English of the first comprehensive textbook of trigonometry, a term invented by the author.
Small 4to (179 x 132 mm). Title-page with elaborate woodcut border, the odd early modern marginal annotation; title-page and a couple of diagrams shaved at outer margin, some leaves in the "Canon of Triangles" section slightly chipped at outer margin, final blank remargined, browning. Modern blindstamped calf.
