This painting appears to be a sketch for Miss Louise Rogers exhibited at the Royal Academy in 1920, a three-quarter-length portrait which includes her left hand and depicts the sitter with her mouth slightly open. The sitter posed several times for de Glehn and was the subject of a portrait painted for her engagement when she became Mrs Groucher. Louise Rogers was probably the wife of Frederick S. Goucher of Short Hills, New Jersey – she died on 27 May 1979.
