the rectangular box with flush fitting cover, decorated in gold hiramaki-e on a dense nashiji ground, with scattered stylised plum blossoms, copper and copper-gilt fittings, copper rims, the interior of the cover similarly decorated, fitted with an inner tray decorated with further plum blossoms on a sparse nashiji and black lacquer ground, nashiji and black lacquer interior, accompanied with a later fitted wood storage box
