the rectangular box with canted edges and flush fitting cover, decorated in gold, silver, red and black hiramaki-e, takamaki-e, keuchi, kirikane, kimpun and inlays of gold foil on a gold lacquer ground, with a bridge spanning a river flanked by willow trees and a large waterwheel, silver rims, the interior of the cover with a large plum tree in blossom before bamboo on a rich nashiji ground, the interior of the base with fitted with three inner trays decorated with young pine (wakamatsu) on nashiji ground, fundame rims, fitted with an, ink slate and silvered water dropper in the form of a pine cone, accompanied with a fitted wood storage box
