tin-glazed earthenware (maiolica), in giltwood baroque frames
diameters of crespine: 9 ¾ and 10 in.; 24.8 and 25.4 cm
heights of frames: 26 and 25 ⅛ in.; 66 and 64.8 cm

The present pair of crespine are painted with Vulcan forging Cupid's arrow and a musical contest between Apollo and Marsyas or possibly between Apollo and Pan, with King Midas.
