Featuring an elegant composition of intertwining vine scrolls and prunus blossoms, the present work finds close parallels in the tiles decorating the Mosque of Takkeci Ibrahim Aga in Istanbul’s Topkapi district, as well as in an example preserved in the Louvre (OA 3919/2-263.9). Comparable vine-and-prunus motifs also appear in Ottoman imperial textiles and court embroideries of the late sixteenth and early seventeenth centuries, including an example preserved in the collection of Topkapi Palace (inv. no. TR 59). Further tiles incorporating prunus blossoms into their designs include tiles sold at Sotheby's, New York, 8 February 2025, lot 1279 and Sotheby's, London, 15 October 2003, lot 52.
