Half-title in volume II only as called for, publisher's advertisement on last page of volume II, terminal blank in volume I, with all the usual cancels (volume I: M3, Q1, U3, Zz3, 3A4 and 3O4; volume II: D1 and Zzz4); title in volume I with some offsetting to lower margin, some intermittent light spotting to margins, but generally a crisp, clean copy. Contemporary marbled calf, with gilt foliate board edges, red morocco labels; upper joint of first volume starting and somewhat tender, usual light rubbing to joints, but a particularly handsome and unsophisticated copy.
