With the signature GIRAUD. F behind the right front leg, and with the Moulding workshop of the Louvre museum stamp visible inside
The plinth patinated to imitate bronze and porphyry, and adorned with bas-reliefs symbolising the qualities of the dog: Loyalty, Courage, Vigilance and Agility
55 by 80 by 50 cm., 21⅝ by 31½ by 19¾in.
This plaster is after a marble of Grégoire Giraud, exhibited in the Salon of 1827 (no 1572) and since in the Louvre (inv. CC 192).
