Description

of flattened form affixed with two gilt-scroll handles, the shield-shaped body reserved on each side with a wide gold-ground band enriched by raised gilt scrolls, painted with scenes of figures in classical costume depicting Constantine and Gods in Olympia, raised on a high cylindrical base further reserved with panels of classical figures, the flattened cover with a gilt knop, the dark-blue ground enriched with further raised gilt formal borders, pseudo-shield marks in underglaze blue to undersides of foot and stand, printed FD Vienna Austria lozenge marks, indistinct titles in brown script, and dates '1769' and '1776'
