5 volumes in one, folio (333 x 198 mm). Double-page engraved plate with four subjects in part 1, 13 engraved illustrations in part 3, a few woodcut figures in text, woodcut headpieces and initials, title printed in red and black, double-column gothic type; title page cropped, browning to text, light spotting to plates in part 1 and 3, marginal repair to (R)2, final few gatherings creased and with marginal tears, lacking binder’s slip and possibly the Register to part 1 (called for by catchword on Q2v). Nineteenth-century vellum over pasteboard, manuscript title on spine label, edges sprinkled red; spine label flaked.
First collected edition of five texts related to mining and metals.
