Lochner, one engraved plate of a mineral specimen, all bound at end of vol. 2; old library stamps on titles, partially removed. Contemporary half mottled calf, spine gilt, marbled boards and pastepaper endleaves, yellow edges; bookplates removed from front endpapers, labels renewed.
First German edition of this popular study of the geology of Campania and Rome by one of the founders of volcanology in Italy.
