4to (224 x 160 mm). Roman type. 60 leaves. Engraved title with architectural border, 12 sectional titles within engraved borders with medallion portraits, 62 full-page engraved illustrations, final leaf with printer’s device (otherwise blank). (Flyleaf defective, title slightly wormed at head.)
Binding: Contemporary Austrian/Bohemian limp green vellum (232 x 162 mm), rear flyleaf with watermark of a P surmounted by a shield containing a cross (similar to Briquet 8792-8799, all Austria-Bohemia, 1530s-1590s). (Binding somewhat worn with a few tears to spine.)
Provenance: Jodocus Nass (Jobst Nass?), letterpress stamp at end of text dated 1564 — HD 7168, early note in ink on lower pastedown — [Marlborough Rare Books, London, sold in 1972 to] — Arthur and Charlotte Vershbow, bookplate, sale, Christie's, New York, 10 April 2013, lot 350.
