5th Anniversary Exhibition. All-Stars of the Okada Collection: Masterworks of Korin, Jakuchu, Hokusai and the Ru Ware Kilns, Okada Museum of Art, Hakone, 2018-19, exh. no. 143 (unillustrated).

The present bowls belong to the set of seasonal ceremonial dining bowls commissioned by imperial order in the eighth year of Qianlong’s reign (1743), with production continuing into the late Qing dynasty.

本器屬於乾隆八年下令燒製的歲時節令膳盌，續燒至晚清。


據清檔記載：乾隆八年十二月初九日，太監胡世傑交御用青花白地膳盌一件，傳旨著交唐英燒造。其盌大小、厚薄、深淺、款式俱照此膳盌。外面俱燒五彩各色地杖，花樣各按時令吉祥花樣，盌內仍照外面花樣，俱要青花白地。年節用「三羊開泰 」、上元節用「五穀豐登」、端陽節用「艾葉靈符」 、七夕用「鵲橋仙渡」 、萬壽用「萬壽無疆」 、中秋節用「丹桂飄香」 、九月九用「重陽菊花」之類，尋常賞花用「萬花獻瑞」俱按時令花樣燒造，五彩要各色地杖，每十件地杖要一色，按節每樣先燒造十件。欽此」
