Second collective condition, containing important variations from the first collective edition of 1676. Racine's Discours and Idylle sur la Paix appeared here for the first time.

2 volumes, 12mo (158 x 88 mm). Roman type. collation: ã4 õ2 A-Z8,4 2A-G4,8 2H4; ã8 A-Z8,4 2A-2N4,8 2O2 χ1: 196 + 237 leaves. Engraved frontispiece in each volume, 10 further full-page engraved plates.


binding: Red crushed morocco by Belz, suc. Niedrée (163 x 101 mm), elaborately gilt wide border, central roundel, surrounded by leafy tools of double circles containing flowers between circles, rose on stem in centre, spine gilt with rose in compartments, gilt inner dentelles, gilt edges, marbled endpapers
