A MONUMENTAL WORK reproducing the most important findings of the German Turfan expeditions, a series of four archaeological expeditions to Turfan, located in present-day Xinjiang, China on the northern Silk Road. Organised by archaeologist and Central Asian explorer Albert von Le Coq between 1902 and 1914, these expeditions resulted in the discovery of many important documents and artworks, much of which are now on display in Berlin museums.
