Benjamin Franklin
A Pocket Almanack for the Year 1746. Fitted to the Use of Pennsylvania, and the neighbouring Provinces. With several useful Additions. Philadelphia: Printed and Sold by B. Franklin, [1745]
24mo (98 x 52 mm). Woodcut borders and symbols; one or two stray spots. Early marbled paper wrappers; some wear and rubbing, text detached from wrappers. Housed in a custom clamshell case.
First edition. These Pocket Almanacks were first published by Franklin in 1740. The small format was a novelty, and they were offered for sale at the Philadelphia Fair.
All Franklin Pocket Almanacks are scarce. Our records locate no other copies of the 1746 issue at auction; ESTC locates only four institutional copies.
