This painting is a fragment of the full-length portrait of a young girl depicted in Ernest Ange Duez’s signed painting, The Museum Visit, dated to circa 1873, last recorded with Didier Aaron, Paris, in 2020.1


We are grateful to Prof. Simone Facchinetti for endorsing the attribution to Carlo Ceresa and suggesting a dating of the 1660s on the basis of digital images.
