Anonymous sale, London, Christie's, 17 December 1987, lot 13 (as manner of Etienne Jeaurat).
This composition relates to a design by Houbraken, which is best known today by way of a mezzotint by Nicolaas Verkolje (1673–1746) and a painted copy,1 thought to be after Verkolje's print,2 in the Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam.
