Description
modelled as a couple in an embrace, in a state of undress, she, scantily clad with a yellow-lined robe painted with indianische Blumen, he with turquoise breeches with blue bows, and a red jacket with gilt scrolls, on a mound base applied flower flowers and leaves, crossed swords and dot mark in underglaze-blue

Cranfield University used non-invasive X-ray fluorescence (XRF) for this lot to screen the green enamel for chromium, which was not detected, a result consistent with 18th century manufacture.
