4to (295 x 250 mm). Original pictorial dust jacket, red cloth with black lettering, edges gilt, printed endpapers. Quarter black leather and blue clamshell, gilt-lettered on spine, front of clamshell with trompe-l'oeil replica of the assemblage "Pêchage" by Man Ray from 1969, navy cardboard slipcase; some wear to gilt-lettering at foot of spine. [With:] 2 photographs by Man Ray printed from the original negatives.


Deluxe first edition, numbered 26 out of 220 copies.


Published in conjunction with the Man Ray exhibition at the Ronny Van de Velde Gallery in Antwerp (18 September–18 December 1994), this monograph contains over 350 black and white photographs, 50 paintings, 60 objects, and texts by Man Ray and André Breton, a French poet and one of the founders of the Surrealist movement. The accompanying photographs are Fashion photograph (1930) and A view of the artist's studio (1934).
