Our clock is likely the one listed by P. Kjellberg in Encyclopédie de la pendule française du Moyen-Âge au XXe siècle, p. 130, fig. C. A similar clock with a roaring lion, topped by a rooster and numbered 3872 was sold at Koller, Zurich in the sale of 22 September 2016, lot 1121 for 29,300 CHF, another similar clock is in the collections of the Skansen Museum, in Stockholm (SKANM.0206283).
