A similar pair of classical vase mounted as candelabra belonged to the Alexander collection, sold Christie's New York on April 30th 1999, lot 137. The body of the vase had the same Bacchus procession despite was gilded rather than patinated. The candle branches had the same characteristics found on some of the artworks by bronzier François Rémond. A plaster vase at the Sèvres manufacture with a similar frieze attributed to Boizot is illustrated in A. Poulet et al. Clodion, Paris, 1992, catalogue d'exposition, p. 241.
